Description

THE TEMPLE OF DEBOD, one of the few standing Egyptian temples outside of Egypt and Northern Africa. This one stands in Madrid near the Campo del Moro and provides a stunning view over to the royal palace and the city's cathedral.

In its own right, the temple proves to have a stunning setting and I have tried to capture that here by working the late afternoon light into the waters surrounding the site.

The temple was built under the Ptolemaic dynasty near to the the early 2nd century BC and probably added to by Roman emperors such as Augustus and Hadrian. It was donated to Spain by the Egyptian government in thanks for help rendered during the construction of the Great Dam of Aswan; when many great buildings were threatened by its rising waters.

Could use some more space on right.

Very nice reflections.

Agree on healing those folks out! :)

Use GIMP if you are low on money... Free to download. Just do a google search! ;) Good luck!

Good point Moser, the full photo does actually have some space on the right, but the site I am hosting it from only does 400 or 800 px. When I put it on 800 px though GFX tends to cut a bit of the picture out. In this case the important space on the right.

As to cloning, I'm afraid I have no program good enough to do this at the moment. Unless there is something you can suggest?

Loved the colours and the reflection, I agree with Moser about the space on the right, and I would clone them out too!
Software: AcdSee, Photoshop (it's a must have ) these are the programs I usually use.

Very good composition. I would have left just a tiny bit more space to the right, so that the eye could circle that third building without bumping into the edge of the photo. ;)
